From education to employment

Basingstoke College of Technology (BCoT)’s first Open Event of the academic year is online and days away

Basingstoke College of Technology (@BCoT) is hosting its first Open Event on Tuesday 13 October, but due to government guidelines, the College is taking the event online for the second time.  The Virtual Open Event will not only give prospective students the chance to find out more about the College from the comfort of their own homes, but also to showcase the technology rich learning style and innovative use of IT offered at BCoT.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, BCoT relied heavily on its use of technology to ensure students continue their education in the safest way possible which has proved fundamental to the successful transition to digital over the summer. By running another Virtual Open Event, the College is taking another step to ensuring services can continue but in a safe way for everyone involved.

BCoT will showcase its range of full-time courses and apprenticeships via dedicated talks, where students can hear directly from lecturers. BCoT’s dedicated apprenticeship team, Aspiral Learning, will be on-hand in their own talk to help students with advice and guidance on applying for an apprenticeship. There will also be a talk from Principal, Anthony Bravo, and a question and answer room where prospective students and their parents/guardians will be able to pose any queries they have and engage with staff.

Anthony Bravo, said:

“The Covid-19 pandemic has resulted in many changes to the ways that BCoT operates, but I am proud that the College is still able to offer the same level of support and experience for students and their families. The Virtual Open Event is a great way for prospective students to find out the information they need to make their choices for next year and I am looking forward to welcoming them to our online event.”

BCoT’s Virtual Open Event is taking place from 4pm to 8pm on Tuesday 13 October. A full timetable of talks is available and you can book now to attend the event by visiting bcot.ac.uk/virtualopenevent
