Young Radio Entrepreneur Recognised in National 30 Under 30 List

Jordan Foad

Inspiring Creative Media Production student, Jordan Foad, from @EKC__Group’s Canterbury College has been featured in the ‘2020 ReelWorld Radio Academy 30 Under 30’ @radioacademy list in recognition of his work establishing a new community radio station in Whitstable.

Jordan’s nationally acclaimed work began in November 2019 when he founded ‘Whitstable Bay Radio’ after identifying a gap in the market when he was just fifteen.

His incredible journey has since seen him take on the role of Station Manager, managing everything from licensing and marketing, to scheduling and presenting.
At sixteen, Jordan is one of the youngest radio professionals to make it onto this year’s ReelWorld list, alongside rising stars from eminent players such as the BBC, Kerrang!, The Guardian and LBC.

Upon hearing news of the achievement, Jordan commented: “I’m stunned to be winning this award so early in my career, especially when many of the other nominees come from big names in the music and entertainment industry.
“To think Whitstable Bay Radio has an award-winning Station Manager, and that it’s me, is absolutely insane. I really wasn’t expecting it!”

The Radio Academy and ReelWorld 30 under 30 list, celebrates excellence in radio and audio, helping to raise the profile and recognition of young radio professionals in the UK.
