The route-specific element of the Education and Training Foundation’s (@E_T_Foundation) T Level Professional Development (TLPD) offer is now available to book via the TLPD Platform.

Online courses, which opened on 4 January, cover the first four of the T Level routes:

  • Education and Childcare
  • Construction
  • Health and Science
  • Digital.

The TLPD route-specific courses cover key modes of delivery and assessment to support practitioners to improve their teaching approaches and theoretical knowledge as they prepare to deliver a T Level route.

Courses are targeted at middle managers and frontline teachers and are bookable through the TLPD Platform.

Face-to-face courses, which can also be booked now through the TLPD Platform, will complement the online courses where possible in line with government Covid-19 restrictions.

Paul Kessell-Holland, ETF’s National Head of T Level Design and Higher Level Education, said:

“Using the most up to date employer facing industry practice and skills will mean that, in the coming years, teachers will have an in-depth theoretical understanding of these industries, alongside the required skills.

“By undertaking valuable CPD and training, practitioners can embrace the need to learn – learn about their subject, their industry, as well as effective teaching and leadership.”

The ETF, the expert body for professional development and standards in Further Education and Training in England, has been supporting the delivery of T Levels since 2019. In February 2020, the ETF was awarded a four-year contract by the Department for Education to continue to support providers, leaders and practitioners to deliver the new courses.
