Staffordshire school unveils major expansion

The Hart School

@thehartschool extends its offer to meet phenomenal demand

A Staffordshire school has unveiled a major expansion to its facilities to meet phenomenal demand for its creative education offer.

The Hart School in Rugeley is celebrating being Number One choice for secondary schools in the area with more children than ever attending the school.

Hundreds of thousands of pounds have already been invested in the Penkridge Bank Road in recent years to bring its facilities up-to-date, extend and add to them, including an all-weather leisure dome that’s the only one of its kind in the UK.

Substantial cash injection for new buildings revealed

Now the high school, which is part of Creative Education Trust and is now oversubscribed, has announced another substantial cash injection to build two new 80 sqm buildings that will house two state-of-the-art ICT suites.

Work is already underway on site with the buildings expected to be completed by the end of June and kitted out ready to open to pupils for the new academic year in September.

Principal Rachael Sandham said:

“We are ecstatic that so many parents and carers have made The Hart School their Number One choice of secondary school for their children.

“Now an oversubscribed school, we are always looking to improve the learning environment for our children, and we will be sharing lots of those improvements as they happen.

“We start with the two brand new, 80 sqm ICT suites being built at the bottom of the Design Faculty. They are going to look amazing and be fully equipped to deliver additional excellent provision.”

Latest in a raft of improvements to school’s creative education offer

The new buildings are part of significant and continued investment over the last few years at the school, which has celebrated year-on-year successes since it became part of Creative Education Trust nine years ago.

Over the last two years the school, which also boasts a Sixth Form, has unveiled a raft of other improvements.

They include extra classrooms and teaching spaces, such as a lecture-style theatre; a new reception area; open-plan leadership hub; a dedicated sixth form entrance and common room, and new staff and pupil entrances; refurbished library and gym; inspirational, vibrant wall art across its classrooms and corridors; and all-year around PVC outdoor sports dome.
