@E_T_Foundation’s 2021–22 Advanced Practitioner programme launched

The 2021–2022 Education and Training Foundation (ETF) Advanced Practitioner programme is now open for applications and bookings. The programme will deliver a range of activities targeted at managers, organisations and practitioners operating in Advanced Practitioner (AP) type roles.

The Advanced Practice online CPD modules are designed to support experienced APs and those who manage them.

Three modules are being delivered on the topics of:

  1. Deepening your Thinking Environment Practices;
  2. Developmental Observations – Advanced Practice; and
  3. Leading AP Teams – Advanced Practice.

All are available from June 2021.

Communities of Practice (CoP) is an online programme focused on collaboration and quality improvement, that will bring practitioners together with other APs who will inspire and support one another. Prospective participants can apply for the foundation pathway (Constellation B) – for those not previously involved in the ETF’s AP programme and practitioners on the way to becoming an AP; or a pathway for experienced APs including those who have been on the programme before (Constellation C). Applications close at 5pm on 30 June 2021.

Applications for the new Practitioner-Led FE Professional Learning pathway will open on 7 July 2021. This pathway will enable 30 organisations to support small teams of three to four APs to organise, recruit and run practitioner-led professional learning opportunities across their organisation and networks. Applications close on 10 September 2021.

Another new component of the AP programme is the in-house Thoroughly Thinking Environments one-day course. It is designed to introduce the Thinking Environment to teams and provide the opportunity for team members with Thinking Environment experience to practice facilitation.

Details of two further elements of the AP programme – Train the Trainers in FE Professional Learning and the March 2022 National AP Conference – will be announced later in 2021.

Full details of the programme, including how to apply and book, how we are ensuring it supports equality, diversity and inclusion, and how participation can support those APs who would like to obtain Advanced Teacher Status (ATS), are available on the ETF’s Advanced Practitioner webpage.
