NPTC Group of Colleges

NPTC Group of Colleges (@NPTCGroup) is proud to announce a brand-new strategic partnership with world-leading Teacher Training expert, Geoff Petty.

The college is working with Geoff for the delivery of UK standards in Methodology and Pedagogy in Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Teacher Training in China.

Mr Petty is the author of bestselling Teacher Training books ‘Teaching Today’ and ‘How to Teach Even Better’. These books have transformed how Teaching and Learning is delivered in the UK and, after translation, the books are also best sellers in China. He is also a positive environmentalist.

Mr Petty, along with Mr James Llewellyn, Head of International Operations at NPTC, formalised their partnership with a leading online education provider in China via an official online signing between the three partners.

James Llewellyn, Head of International Operations, excited for the new partnership said:

”It is a pleasure to be signing this strategic cooperation agreement with Mr Petty and Mr Huang after the past few months of planning and development work. Chinese Vocational Education system is looking to internationalise and NPTC Group of Colleges have been pro-actively working with partners in China sustainably for a number of years before Covid19, and then due to our great relationships, we are able to convert to online delivery when it was necessary last year. This project will introduce world-leading standards to Teachers in China and support social mobility in large numbers.”

With the recent shift in Chinese export strategy to high tech, there is a Human Resource (HR) skills gap in China. The UK Further Education (FE) system is renowned as world-leading and Chinese teachers are keen to learn from us and how the UK FE sector plays a critical role in society, how to better engage with students and employers and offer worldwide, highly-skilled, Human Resource supply chains within the Technical and Vocational sector.

Mr Petty commented, “I am delighted to be working with NPTC Group of Colleges on this excellent project and, the fact that we can support social mobility in the thousands, delivered in a clean environmentally friendly way, means that this project is a perfect example of UK and Welsh green innovation export”.
