Irwin Mitchell Advise Boston College on new college campus for adult learners in Horncastle, Lincolnshire

National law firm @IrwinMitchell is advising @BostonCollegeUK in its partnership with East Lindsey District Council to create a new college campus for adult learning, including digital skills, and a public sector hub in Horncastle, Lincolnshire.

The development of the new adult further education college and public sector hub is on Mareham Road.

The development gained planning permission last year, and works are now underway following confirmation that Boston College has successfully secured the Ā£1,231,490 funding that was required for the college campus aspect of project. This funding was secured was from the Greater Lincolnshire local enterprise partnership as part of the governmentā€™s ‘Getting Building Fund’.

The public sector hub side of the facility will be home to East Lindsey District Council and partner organisations. The district council have already allocated Ā£6.23m to the development and plan to be in the new building in September 2022.

Irwin Mitchell advised Boston College on the property aspects of the deal including a development agreement for lease and a new 25 year lease which the College will enter into on completion of the development, as well as the funding arrangements. The team was led by real estate partner Michelle Beaumont, assisted by real estate associate Vicki Rounding.

The law firm has a strong reputation in advising clients the education sector. Earlier this year Irwin Mitchell advised Hartpury University and Hartpury College on their student accommodation expansion plans in Gloucester, in a deal worth around Ā£17.5 million and last year it advised an overseas investor on the acquisition of student accommodation in Bristol for Ā£39.3 million.
