Students to find out more about new Leicester College immersive media development course

Leicester College (@LeicesterColl) has partnered with the National Space Centre on a new creative course. New for 2022, the Immersive Design and Development Level 3 BTEC gives students access to cutting edge technology in the field of immersive media development.

Students can discover more about the course at 10.30am on Tuesday 24th August and Wednesday 25th August 2021 at the National Space Centre. Course specific tours will enable students to look around the bespoke learning environments they will learn in at the centre, and talk to lecturers and staff who work at NSC Creative on projects including VR missions to Mars, visual effects for film and games, and dome shows and installations.

For students interested in a career in virtual and augmented reality, the two-year qualification is equivalent to three A levels and begins in September 2022.

A spokesperson for Leicester College said:

“We’re really excited to be able to offer this new course. The augmented and virtual reality industry is growing rapidly and there is a wide range of career opportunities available in the area. Students who join this course will have access to the latest technology and the chance to learn from industry professionals working at the forefront of the field.”
