Mark Haysom, Chief Executive of the Learning & Skills Council officially opened Eastleigh College’s brand new £10 million technology facility on Friday to an audience of invited guests including Chris Huhne MP, Lord & Lady Chidegy and Roger Smith, the Mayor of Eastleigh.


The new addition, which has taken two years to build, encompasses state of the art learning facilities including Motor Vehicle, Plumbing & Gas, Electrical Installation, Construction, Built Environment, Engineering and a new suite of classrooms for Care & Health Studies.
Mark Haysom commented ‘This £10 million investment brings the college into the 21st Century, creating a huge opportunity for more young people and adults to come to Eastleigh’
Alongside the new technology facility, Eastleigh College’s Desborough Campus has also been newly refurbished to encompass a dedicated Creative & Visual Arts faculty and six Hair & Beauty salons (including coffee shop) which are open to the public at very competitive prices!
All guests where taken on a tour of the college’s new development and could see firsthand how students are benefiting from the new facilities through a variety of demonstrations put on by each department.
