Vulnerable children: Regulators and Children’s Commissioners among witnesses as Lords committee resumes inquiry

Peers will hear from independent children’s commissioners from around Britain and Ofsted’s chief inspector when the House of Lords Public Services Committee resumes its inquiry into vulnerable children and public services with sessions on Wednesday and Thursday this week.

Tomorrow (Wednesday 8 September) the committee will hear about support for children and young people in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland and about how regulators can better address child vulnerability from:

  • Bruce Adamson, Scotland’s Commissioner for Children and Young People
  • Mairéad McCafferty, Chief Executive at Northern Ireland’s Commissioner for Children and Young People

  • Dr Rosie Benneyworth, Chief Inspector of Primary Medical Services and Integrated Care, Care Quality Commission
  • Amanda Spielman, HM Chief Inspector, Ofsted
