Funding applications open for AAT Level 3 qualifications

Applications are now open for funding of AAT (Association of Accounting Technicians) Level 3 qualifications through the government’s National Skills Fund.

The National Skills Fund aims to help adults in England aged 19 or over who do not currently have a Level 3 qualification to gain valuable skills to improve their job prospects and achieve success in their careers. It also aims to boost the supply of skills needed by employers and support the UK’s economic recovery following the Covid-19 (coronavirus) pandemic.

A Level 3 qualification is the equivalent to two full A Levels or a technical certificate or diploma. Over 400 Level 3 qualifications are available for full funding through the National Skills Fund, including AAT’s Advanced Diploma in Accounting and Advanced Certificate in Bookkeeping. Students can apply for funding through their training providers and funding will be available until 31 July 2022.

Rob Alder, Head of Business Development, AAT, said:

“We’re delighted that two AAT qualifications have been included on a list of fully-funded courses as part of the UK government’s National Skills Fund for adults, recognising their broad appeal and value. Our Level 3 Advanced Diploma in Accounting and Advanced Certificate in Bookkeeping are among the few non-graduate entry routes into the accounting profession and are open to anyone regardless of age, school qualifications or financial situation. This will help even more people to gain and develop the skills they need to build their future career. Additionally, it means businesses across the UK will benefit from having more employees with the skills required to adapt to a rapidly changing working environment and who hold respected and recognised accountancy and bookkeeping qualifications, ensuring their knowledge and skills remain up to date.

“Accountancy is seen as one of the most stable professions – with increasing numbers of people pursuing a new career in the sector alongside those developing their existing skills – as well as being well-paid and with opportunities to gain experience that can be used in a number of different roles. We would encourage anyone who is considering making use of the National Skills Fund to improve their skills or switch to a new career path to look at AAT’s Level 3 qualifications and to speak to their local training provider about accessing funding.”

People interested in finding out more should contact their local provider to check availability.

AAT offers a wide range of qualifications which are open to everyone, regardless of age, background or previous experience.
