Barnet and Southgate College becomes SET Corporate Partner

The Society for Education and Training (@SocietyET) is delighted to welcome the teaching staff at Barnet and Southgate College (@barnetsouthgate) as its newest members.

The college became a SET Corporate Partner from 1 September 2021, as part of their commitment to the learning and development of their teaching staff.

The partnership will enable 350 staff at the college to access an exclusive range of professional development opportunities, including access to valuable content, research, webinars, events and discounts.

Neil Coker, Principal and Assistant Chief Executive of Barnet and Southgate College, commended the partnership:

“We are really pleased to join the Society for Education and Training as a Corporate Partner to help us facilitate a culture of learning across the organisation.

“I look forward to embedding this partnership in our practice as we deliver on our commitment to increase the learning and development opportunities for our talented staff, and to provide our students with exceptional learning experiences.”

SET is the only professional membership body dedicated to teachers and trainers working in Further Education. As SET members, Barnet and Southgate College staff will now be able to connect with a network of expertise, and access a host of valuable benefits, including:

  • the opportunity to study for Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS) and Advanced Teacher Status (ATS)
  • discounts to CPD courses run by the Education and Training Foundation (ETF)
  • access to SET’s online FE/HE ebook library and copies of the inTuition journal
  • being part of the largest professional network of teachers and trainers in the further education sector, with opportunities to share expertise and experience with their peers.

Martin Reid, Director of SET, added:

“We’d like to give a warm welcome to Barnet and Southgate College as our newest Corporate Partner of the Society for Education and Training. We look forward to supporting their teaching staff and help them to strive for excellence in their professional journey.”
