From education to employment

It’s official: Multiverse apprenticeships are outstanding

@JoinMultiverse receives “outstanding” following @Ofstednews inspection

Multiverse, a U.K.-based startup tech company focused on building an outstanding alternative to university through apprenticeships, has been awarded the top grade in its first inspection by the UK education regulator, Ofsted.

Ofsted judged Multiverse to be ‘outstanding’ – its top available ranking – in all categories.

Ofsted visited Multiverse in July for a one-week, full inspection. It follows two monitoring visits by the regulator – in which Multiverse also scored high marks.

The inspectors noted in their verdict: “From apprentices’ first interaction with staff at Multiverse, they are welcomed into a kind and inclusive environment. Apprentices are inspired to have high aspirations by exceptional coaches who are experts in their field.”

Ofsted is responsible for inspecting and evaluating education providers across England. Just 13% of apprenticeship providers receive this top rating – putting Multiverse firmly among the best in the country.

Multiverse trains over 5000 apprentices at more than 300 companies including Facebook, Morgan Stanley and KPMG. The company offers a range of qualifications including Digital Marketing, Project Management, Software Engineering and Data Analysis.

Ofsted inspectors noted the “highly qualified, knowledgeable and experienced” coaches, the vibrant community and diverse curriculum offered by Multiverse. They also praised the online delivery model adopted by the start-up. In a white paper published by Multiverse, the company noted that going remote had actually approved attainment among apprentices: completion rose 6 percentage points, while the pass rate increased to 100% for the first time.

Euan Blair, founder and CEO of Multiverse, said: “We are building an outstanding alternative to university and to corporate training, so hearing that exact verdict – outstanding – from the Ofsted inspectors is a huge vindication of our work. This incredible verdict is the culmination of so much work, effort and care that our amazing teams put in on a daily basis.”

Lisa Barrett, VP of Learning, Innovation and Operations, said: “Our applied learning model offers something totally unique: relevant, actionable skills delivered through close coaching and a community of support. It’s now been validated by thousands of professional apprentices, hundreds of clients, and now the rigorous inspectors at Ofsted. It’s a crucial validation of our processes and diligence and reflects all of the hard work put in by the entire Multiverse team, from curricula design and operations to our incredible team of coaches.”
