Former Aston Martin Chief, and host of apprenticeship champions first to be honoured with ‘Future Skills Award’

Former apprentice turned Aston Martin (@astonmartin) motor company chief, Andy Palmer (@AndyatAuto), is among the first UK recipients of the ‘Future Skills Award’, launched to champion individuals and businesses driving apprenticeships and jobs growth in the UK (@HSV_Foundation).

The Future Skills Award is being driven by the HomeServe Foundation, the charity arm of FTSE 250-listed HomeServe plc, to recognise organisations or individuals’ contributions to furthering future skills and apprenticeships in the UK.

Other first recipients of the award are leaders in the field of apprenticeships, including Amazing Apprenticeships, founded by Anna Morrison CBE, as well as employers driving apprenticeship growth, including Paragon Customer Communications.

Trades employers are also being recognised in the first wave of award recipients, including gas and heating companies, OnGas and 64 Degrees Heating, which have committed themselves to growing through apprenticeships.

Helen Booth, Director of the HomeServe Foundation said:

“We want to recognise and celebrate all those who are helping Britain build back better by creating jobs and new opportunities through apprenticeships.

“We need companies big and small to really together to drive the change we need to see, so we want to celebrate all those who are doing this, but also those people and companies that are helping the nation recover when it’s needed most.”

The award is now open for other individuals and businesses – both large and small who are supporting the growth of future skills across all and every industry in the UK – to apply for. Criteria applies and details are available here.

Everyone receiving the Future Skills Award will be given a toolkit to celebrate and promote the accreditation to their employees, partners, or customers, and businesses can also apply for the award directly themselves.
