CESI’s Dave Simmonds tackles employability and skills integration
FE News catches up with Dave Simmonds, head of the Centre for Economic and Social Inclusion, to talk about closing the gap between the skills and employability sectors.
Speaking on the sidelines of the Association of Employment and Learning Providers national conference, Mr Simmonds calls for Work Programme reforms to ensure funding pots are rewarding qualifications, and for more resources for organisations helping those with health and disability issues.
He also stresses how the skills sector needs to be thinking about job outcomes as well as students achieving qualifications.
