AELP’s Mark Dawe discusses linking the Skills agenda with Work Programme to achieve sustainable employment

Mark Dawe, Chief Executive of the Association of Employment and Learning Providers (AELP), discusses the benefits of linking the Work Programme with the Skills agenda at the IntoWork convention.

Mark explains: “We’ve had a very interesting debate about the future the Work Programme but also linking that into the skills agenda. I think one of the most important things is to think about not only getting people into work, but into sustained employment and for them to be able to progress and contribute to the productivity of this country.

“The Work Programme is really important, but the meshing together with the skills agenda is vital for that long term sustainability.”
