From 8 – 12 July 2019 national charity Arts Insight will take over Winton Primary School in Kings Cross, London to produce ‘Cirque du Respect’.

For the week, the school children become young professionals working together to produce an original musical. Classrooms are transformed into a marketing department, a set and props workshop, the newsroom, a film and editing studio and the costume department.

The hall is the rehearsal room, which over the course of the week is transformed into an auditorium by the backstage production teams.

At the end of the week, the children get to see all their hard work by producing two public performances on Friday 12 July at 11am and 2pm in front of members of the local community and special guests, entry is free.

Claire Brown, Head of Winton Primary School, said: “We have worked with Arts Insight for the last 7 years and the children can’t wait for Laura and her team to come back. Every child is included in the making of the production and by the end of the week, they cannot believe what they have achieved.

“Laura and her team excite every child to be their best while making sure every adult in the room has a tear in their eye. The theme of this production will certainly help us to instil these values in every child something that is so important to our school and community.”

Laura Berridge, Artistic Director, Arts Insight added: “Our charitable aim is to plug the gaps that the slashing of the arts budgets is continuing to create within the education system.”

‘Cirque du Respect’ is an original musical set against the vibrant and magical backdrop of the circus. It shares a very important message, that no matter where you are from, what you do, what beliefs you have or what you look like, you should: Respect Everyone So People Everywhere Co-exits Together.
