Conference To Address Government’s Literacy, Language and Numeracy Targets

As part of the Government’s Skills for Life programme and preview to Adult Learners” Week (21st to 27th May), a conference is being staged at the Britannia Street Centre, in London on the 19th May 2005.

The Skills for Life: what works well for your learners and you? Conference, given by the Institute of Adult Continuing Education (NIACE) and the National Association of Teachers in Further and Higher Education (NATFHE), will be addressing how providers can meet the Government’s target of improving literacy, language and numeracy in 1.5 million adults by 2007. The conference will also tackle the issue of attracting some of the harder to reach adults with poor academic skills.
