The festival, titled exp05 will be held at the Exhibition Centre at Myerscough College in October. It will be a hands-on, interactive event where young people can experience everything from mechanics to medicine, catering to computing. There will be ten zones covering Business and IT; Construction; Creative and Media; Engineering and Automotive; Health and Social Care; Hospitality; Catering; Customer Care and Tourism; Information; Advice and Guidance; Public Services; Retail; and Rural, Land-based and Sport.

According to Steve Palmer, Executive Director of the LSC in Lancashire, “Early exposure to skills and what is actually involved in different jobs in essential if young people are to choose the right career path for them – exp05 will meet this need.”

The LSC issued invitations this week encouraging all Lancashire secondary schools and colleges to bring years 10 to 11 to the event, with places being allocated on a first come, first served basis. Exp05 will take place on 18,19 and 20 October. Schools should visit the website or phone 0845 3000 250 to register for this year’s event.
