From education to employment

Bellway commence Apprenticeship Levy partnership with Learning Curve Group

Housebuilding giant Bellway has appointed one of the UK’s leading providers of training and recruitment services, Learning Curve Group, as their Apprenticeship Levy partner.

The partnership will see Co. Durham based Learning Curve Group (LCG) work with Bellway to deliver their new apprenticeship schemes with dozens of vacancies created around the north-east and nationwide. The available roles include a wide range of construction trades, Surveying, a new Trainee Assistant Site Manager Programme as well as office based roles such as business administration and accountancy.

As part of the deal, LCG will also be supporting Bellway with the recruitment of apprentices as well as offering pre-apprenticeship courses through our skills centre.

Recent changes in apprenticeship legislation mean that eligible employers must contribute 0.5% of their turnover to the Apprenticeship Levy, which can then be used to fund apprenticeship training.  This training can be offered at a range of levels to both new and existing employees regardless of previous academic achievements, opening up a host of development opportunities.

Learning Curve Group, who are at the forefront of these changes, are working with both Levy paying employers to utilise their Levy pot and SME’s who only need to contribute 10% towards apprenticeship training. Their unique proposition of being able to offer fully-funded vocational qualifications and recruitment services is proving to be a big hit with employers.

Existing Bellway employees will be looking to benefit from the link up, with those not undertaking an apprenticeship eligible for LCG’s fully-funded vocational qualifications in a range of exciting subjects.

Learning Curve Group CEO, Brenda McLeish said;

 “We have worked closely with Bellway to develop a fantastic proposition for both new and existing employees, with a range of training solutions to suit their learning and development needs. Our vision is ‘transforming lives through learning’, and I look forward to developing this long-term relationship with Bellway and seeing the apprentices and other team members flourish.”

Bellway Group Learning and Development Manager, Andrew Cumiskey said;

 “We are delighted to partner with Learning Curve Group and look forward to welcoming our new apprentices onto our programmes. We spent up to a year preparing for the introduction of the apprenticeship levy and are excited to be able to offer a range of development routes from entry level courses to degree level apprenticeships in a wide range of disciplines. ”
