Unionlearn have announced two more Supporting Learners Conferences as it plans to make 2017 one of the best yet for Union Learning Reps.
The events in Hull and Newcastle next spring will aim to give ULRs the tools they need to support workplace colleagues and communities. Delegates a chance to get updates from the regional TUC and unionlearn, find out about the latest materials available, hear from fellow reps with case studies on what worked for them and get a chance to try out online resources.
Activities are planned on supporting unions promote English and maths skills at work, working with apprentices, initial learner assessments, social media, online learning. In a packed programme there will be something for all ULRs, reps and officers throughout day.
They will also be an opportunity to find out about the exciting new learning offer from TU Education that will support the development of reps from the new-year.
The events will be from January onwards. Four events have been set up on:
– Wed 22nd Feb – Hull, St James Centre, East Ridings College
– Tue 7th March Jan – Newcastle: County Hotel
Unionlearn Director Liz Rees said “The unionlearn Supporting Learners conferences are amazingly popular and bring Union Learning Reps and organisers up to speed on lots of developments around the learning at work agenda as well as providing new resources they can take back to their workplaces to help learners.”

Four other events have already been announced, and are:
– Mon 16 Jan – London: Council Chamber, Congress House
– Tue 31 Jan – Plymouth: Horizons Suite, National Marine Aquarium
– Tue 7 Feb – Leicester: Victoria Suite, De Montfort Hall
– Wed 15 Feb – Liverpool: Merseytravel, Mann Island
The events are free for all Union Learning Reps and other Union Reps working with learners and booking is via the unionlearn website
