Powys Adult and Community Learning Awards

NPTC Group of Colleges was delighted to host the Adult and Community Learning Awards on 26th June with a special ceremony held at Themes restaurant, Newtown College involving Partner Community Learning providers.

The ceremony was held to recognise the fantastic achievements of our Adult learners in the Powys community. NPTC Group of Colleges Deputy CEO Judith Williams and  Powys County Council Strategic Programme Manager Jayne Bevan were among those presenting awards.

The prize winners were chosen from a wide range of worthwhile candidates many of whom have shown true dedication, been inspirational to others and some have done so whilst also overcoming significant challenges.

Winners

  • Active learning for Health and Well Being – Kimberely Lockwood. Highly commended – Audrey Evans.
  • Into Work – Angela Neave
  • Family learning Award – Mr Atanas Krastev and Mrs Iliyana Krasteva
  • Further Education Award – Emma Price. Highly commended – Olwen Prothero.
  • Community learner – Durga Bahadur Thapa. Highly commended – Brian Christopher
  • Higher Education – Michelle Dorise- Turrall. Highly commended – Kirsty Allwood 
  • ESOL Learner – Sher Bahadur IJam
  • Learning for Life Change and Progression – Junko Cannon. Highly commended – Megan Thompson
  • Welsh Learner – Julie Pearce
