Jisc are inviting student teams from across the UK to help build the campus of the future. They are looking for some creative students to spend a week in August building and testing tools that can enhance the student experience.The aim of the August 'hackathon' is for student teams to design, develop and build “something” that would benefit students in the world that is the intelligent campus. Teams should ideally be between 2-4 people.
Today Ufi (13 Jun) launches VocTech Impact 2018, for projects seeking between £150,000 and £300,000 funding for 18 months. Ufi works to raise UK skills levels by promoting innovative digital solutions for adult vocational learning. Our VocTech Impact fund is specifically aimed at projects that have already tested a prototype or early version of their solution, have a clear demand or route to market, and are looking to reach a large number of learners within the funding period. The call is open to projects from all sectors and using all technologies.

The course is part of its popular Blended Learning Essentials (BLE) series, which is hosted on FutureLearn, the UK's leading provider of open courses.
New research released today to mark the launch of the UK’s first ever National Numeracy Day has shown that anxiety around numeracy and maths could be holding back millions of people from getting on at work or getting a better deal on their personal finances. The charity behind National Numeracy Day, National Numeracy, along with the campaign’s founding supporter KPMG, are hoping the event will raise awareness of the many benefits of good numeracy and help people to feel more confident in improving their skills.
