Taking a deep dive into observations of practice

April 24 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

When implemented well, with the right intent behind them, observations of practice can be a powerful tool to improve quality. Done badly, and observations add little value and can be perceived as a threat.

So how can you ensure that your observations of practice enhance CPD for your colleagues and benefit your apprentices? How can we successfully bridge the relationship between quality assurance and practitioner development?

That’s what this session is all about – led by top quality specialist, Lou Doyle.

Here’s what we’ll cover:

  • Explore the different stages of a successful observations process
  • Consider the advantages and disadvantages of different approaches to observations
  • Reflect on the knowledge and skills needed to effectively observe and be observed
  • Critique examples of reporting on outcomes from observations
  • Share experiences with colleagues from other organisations to help you to develop your own plans and practice
