New Postgraduate Provision to offer Career Development

Filton College, a Further Education college in Bristol, has announced the launch of a new postgraduate course in counselling supervision.

Set to start next month, Filton College’s “Advanced Professional Certificate in Counselling Supervision” will provide a chance for people who have already qualified as councillors to further develop in their careers. The course, consisting of five two-day workshops on Fridays and Saturdays, is aimed at experienced professionals, currently working in counselling as practitioners or trainers, who wish to progress to a supervisory role.

The new qualification will provide specialist work-based training covering the key knowledge, understanding and practical skills for work in this highly complex area, as well as developing a critical understanding of trends in counselling theory and practise.

Filton College have obtained recognition for the course from leading professional bodies, and completion of the qualification will contribute towards accreditation as a supervisor by the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP), the UK’s professional membership association for counsellors and psychotherapists. Applications will be considered on a first come, first served basis until the course is full. Prospective applicants are advised to contact the college for further details.
