From education to employment

Havant & South Downs College students achieve outstanding results this year

Results published on 13 August show that @Be_HSDC students have continued to achieve outstanding A Level, Vocational and Technical results.

Figures have shown that students across all three campuses have achieved very positive results, with an overall pass rate of 97.9% with 53% of students securing A* to B or equivalent grades and over a quarter of our students achieving the very highest A*/ A or equivalent grades.

Having just celebrated the first anniversary of its merger of three campuses, HSDC is delighted that the high grades achieved by its students remain excellent.

Mike Gaston, Principal and CEO of HSDC, said:

“This has been a testing year for both students and staff nationally and locally, and we have been delighted to see how staff and students have responded to online learning and together have constantly looked for creative ways to stay engaged with their studying through Google Classroom.

The results today have to be a positive experience for the students in supporting them in their transition to university or employment. The pandemic and experience of Covid-19 doesn’t define our students here at HSDC, instead their resilience to face up to challenge, find solutions and maximise the opportunities that present themselves are what it is about for these young people.

I and my staff salute them as they collect their results today, congratulate them and wish them every success for the future.”
