Mastering Self Assessment Reports (SARs) & Quality Improvement Plans (QIPs)

October 26, 2023 @ 9:30 am 12:30 pm

When your SAR is developed with authenticity and honesty, you are well prepared for enhancing quality in the year ahead, and meeting the Ofsted inspection team should they arrive.

Effective self-assessment (SAR) and quality improvement planning (QIP) is the cornerstone of high impact quality improvement. Yet too often, it falls short because it is perceived as a paper exercise, lacks evaluative content and results in a very long to-do list.

Drawn from SDN and Mesma’s work with over 1,000 apprenticeship providers – and led by a team of quality specialists, this event builds upon the Mesma mantra of ‘no surprises’. The masterclass will be insightful and action-focused, equipping you with the knowledge and tools for better quality improvement and inspection readiness.

This in-depth session will hone your skills in:

  • Building a collaborative SAR that accurately reflects the quality of your provision.
  • Designing a QIP that helps prioritise where you need to solve problems or build on strengths to enhance provision.

The session will be led by Lou Doyle, CEO Mesma and Senior Strategic Associate SDN. SDN and Mesma are leading experts in apprenticeships.

The SDN team have supported over 5,000 apprenticeship staff, from 1000 organisations, to prepare for the reforms. We’ve also worked closely with over 80 of the trailblazer employer groups, giving us a unique insight into what is required.

Mesma are quality assurance experts and provide online software, tools and in-depth support for providers across the country.

This masterclass is designed for all those involved in SAR and QIP development in your organisation – whether senior managers, department leads, IQAs or front-line staff.

“Thank you… you are making such a difference to the sector!’.”
