Recruiting a headteacher
DfE today (14 Dec) published a guide to help governors and trustees make effective decisions when recruiting and selecting headteachers and other school leaders.
This guide, “Recruiting a headteacher“, written in partnership with the National Governors’ Association, highlights the importance of professional recruitment practice in recruiting and selecting headteachers. It:
- identifies good practice
- emphasises the need for fairness and transparency
- signposts to all related guidance
It should be read alongside the Headteacher recruitment toolkit.
