From education to employment

Leicester College to host event for professionals looking to move into teaching and training

Leicester College (@LeicesterColl) is hosting an information evening for professionals who are considering using their skills to train the next generation by moving into teaching. The ‘Talent Recruitment’ event will take place between 5-7pm on Tuesday 8 March 2022 at the College’s Freemen’s Park Campus.

The event is aimed at people with a wide range of skills and experience, from a variety of sectors including construction, engineering, motor vehicle, digital, health and social care, who are passionate about sharing their knowledge and skills with others.

Leicester College is looking for professionals to inspire, teach, train, and assess the next generation of experts. A teaching qualification is not essential as the College will support and fund professionals to achieve a qualification while they teach. The industry and career experience, and a willingness to inspire others is all that is needed to begin the journey.

Interested parties can find out more by registering for one of two sessions at the Recruitment Talent event, either at 5pm or 6pm.

Della Sewell, Director of Human Resources at Leicester College said: “Every year, Leicester College provides high quality academic, technical and vocational education and training for young people, adults and employers. However, we also need industry professionals to pass on their expertise and experience to this next generation of students, enabling them to progress into higher education, apprenticeships and employment. That’s where the Recruitment Talent event comes in for those people interested in moving into further education teaching.”

You could help equip students with valuable skills to help develop their career opportunities and progress into higher education, apprenticeships and employment, while benefiting from:

  • a generous holiday entitlement of up to 56 days per year
  • access to a career average pension scheme
  • reduced teaching timetable whilst studying for a teaching qualification and support of a mentor
  • flexible and hybrid working opportunities available
  • onsite nurseries
  • learning and development opportunities
  • discounted shopping
  • Cycle2work
  • health and wellbeing support and advice.

Leicester College is proud of its diverse workforce and welcomes new employees from the whole community.
