Enhancing Quality in Apprenticeships: Leaders Programme – November

November 7, 2023 @ 1:00 pm November 21, 2023 @ 3:30 pm

Ready to take your leadership skills to the next level?

This programme will help you to define and deliver a quality improvement strategy that transforms your apprenticeship provision – whatever your starting point.

You’ll attend this 3-part series of 1.5 hour webinars with other leaders or aspiring leaders to discuss ideas, challenges and practical solutions built on research that goes beyond continuous improvement in teaching and learning. You’ll also access one-to-one advice to support you on your path to delivering outstanding provision.

Part 1: The Fundamentals When Building Your Quality Framework
It is too easy to design quality improvement frameworks and policies that sit on a shelf, without doing the job they intend to do. Even if you have an existing framework or policy, it’s always good to review it to see if it is helping or hindering you to meet your goals.

  • From QA to QI to QE – key principles in designing a framework or policy that is aligned with your organisational strategy
  • Building your quality cycle – an exploration of methods, risk management, and sampling strategies
  • Setting and reporting against Quality OKRs – highlighting risks and celebrating strengths

Part 2: Quality Improvement Methods and Reporting
It isn’t unusual to find yourself using the same quality assurance methods year after year, without finding the time to reflect on whether they are adding value. In this session we will build on the first session by considering research and practice to inform your approach to deploying observations and deep dive enquiries as part of your quality cycle.

  • Supporting your team or colleagues to undertake impactful observations of activity.
  • Designing and implementing effective deep dive enquiries.
  • Reporting the outcomes of QA activity to drive action.

Part 3: Leading and Influencing Change
You play a critical role in influencing or leading the direction of travel. This final session introduces techniques that will help you to lead or influence change, using the outcomes of quality assurance activity to be a respected voice of improvement and enhancement in your organisation.

  • Explore principles and techniques for leading and influencing change.
  • Focus on the critical role your SAR and QIP play in solving problems and building capacity.
  • Consider how best to embed processes that underpin your intent.
