House of Commons Launch for National Careers Week 2018 – 5th-10th March 2018

National Careers Week (#NCW2018) is an annual event organised by a dedicated team to promote the importance of quality careers education in schools and colleges. This year the launch event on 5th March 2018 will be held at the House of Commons. 

National Careers Week CIC was founded in 2012 and is backed by a number of investors and volunteers with a wealth of experience from education, business and careers guidance. NCW celebrates and promotes quality careers education, information, advice and guidance (CEIAG) across the UK for at least one full week every year. 

The Launch event, hosted by Emma Hardy MP, will kick-start National Careers Week 2018 and provide an opportunity to inspire Careers Leaders to improve the standard of CEIAG across schools, colleges and universities with a wealth of FREE resources, ideas and inspiration. 

Speakers confirmed include: 

    • Emma Hardy, Labour MP for Hull West & Hessle 
    • Nick Newman, Founder & CEO of National Careers Week 
    • Representatives from RBS our headline partner 
    • Representatives from Institute of the Motor Industries 
    • Andrew Bernard, Enterprise Director of National Careers Week 

 

VIP guests attending will represent the worlds of education, business and government. 

Nick Newman, CEO, said, “Our goal is to empower educational institutions to provide high quality and meaningful interactions between students, teachers and professionals. Through various activities and free materials designed to increase access and excellence in CEIAG, we will ensure that future generations of students will understand the links between courses, skills and the pathways they open up”.

Emma Hardy MP said, “Careers in schools is essential; yet hardworking teachers cannot do it all. It’s a positive partnership between employers, education and young people. Meeting careers guidance MUST be a partnership and NCW celebrates everything inspirational about supporting our young people.”
