From education to employment

£400k of MBA Scholarships Awarded to Talented Young Engineers

Engineers in Business Fellowship (EIBF) has awarded Sainsbury Management Fellows MBA scholarships to eight talented young engineers to enable them to study for MBAs at top international business schools. The engineers will each receive £50,000.

EIBF is a charity that champions and promotes business education for engineers. Through the MBA scholarship and its mentoring programme, EIBF helps engineers to gain broader business knowledge and skills. This enables them to secure senior management and board-level positions in blue-chip, entrepreneurial and not-for-profit organisations where they use their technical and business expertise to help improve performance and productivity and thus economic growth.

Sainsbury Management Fellows scholarships were awarded to the following engineers who went through a stringent assessment process, including a panel interview with Sainsbury Management Fellows alongside members of the Royal Academy of Engineering:

Studying at Imperial College Business School

Studying at INSEAD

 Studying at IMD Business School

The Sainsbury Management Fellows scholarship scheme was established by Lord Sainsbury of Turville to increase the number of executives in UK boardrooms who have both technology and effective management skills.

The mix of engineering and business skills is proving successful as the Sainsbury Management Fellows are making a difference in society. To date, Fellows have founded more than 300 new companies worth £4.8 billion, created more than 20,000 new jobs and are helping to develop some of the UK’s largest corporations.
