From education to employment

FE Job Board Links With Verifier Association

It was announced earlier today that London-based FE Careers.co.uk signed a deal to create a strategic partnership with the professional body, the Association of External Verifiers. www.FEcareers.co.uk is the fastest growing online Further Education job board in the UK, while the Association of External Verifiers (AEV) is the leading professional association for verification, assessment and examination professionals. This collaboration will create the opportunity for AEV members to access to Further Education (FE) job prospects from colleges, training providers, specialist FE recruitment companies and awarding bodies across the UK. This partnership will also see both FE Careers.co.uk and the AEV working together to change negative perceptions of the Further Education sector.

LeNise Brothers, Head of Marketing for FE Careers.co.uk said: “This is exciting news for the Further Education sector. This logical partnership means that members of the Association of External Verifiers will have continuous access to top Further Education vacancies across the UK and clients on FE Careers.co.uk will benefit from applications from the qualified and experienced members of the AEV. It also means that we are helping to build awareness of all of the positive things that Further Education does for individuals, businesses and the economy.”

Yvonne Nolan, Chief Executive of the Association of External Verifiers commented: “AEV are delighted to be working alongside FE Careers ““ we are sure that the links to accessing career opportunities in learning and development will be of huge benefit to our members.”

Notes to Editors:

1. FE Careers.co.uk was established in October 2004 to provide a dedicated source of Further Education jobseekers and employers for the whole of the UK. The site receives over 320,000 hits a month and features clients such as Protocol Training, Select Education, Action For Employment, Chimeara Recruitment, Newcastle College and South Devon College.

2. The Association of External Verifiers is an independent, national organisation which is open to all verifiers from all subject areas and Awarding Bodies. The development of the AEV has provided the opportunity for the verifier community to develop its own Code of Conduct which has contributed to maintaining and improving standards of practice and reinforce consistency across Awarding Body and subject areas.
