A successful year of academic achievements at Monoux Sixth Form College

Monoux Sixth Form College is celebrating another successful year of academic achievements. Over 60% of grades achieved by leavers are high scores which significantly boosts their access to their chosen university courses.

David Vasse, Headteacher, commented “Students’ achievements on the new linear A Levels are high and above the national average. The pass rate is above 96% and a majority of subjects have recorded a 100% pass rate.

We are thrilled with achievement on the A Level equivalent Level 3 vocational programmes. The results demonstrate the very strong year-on-year improvements at Monoux – this year alone a 5% increase in achievement. Crucially, the progress made by these students from GCSE is extraordinary and significantly greater than the progress you would typically expect to see in schools and colleges.

I believe that these results are inspired by the focus and determination that Monoux students have. We environment for learning that we have here, the links with employers, the standards that we set for behaviour and self-improvement; all of these contribute to academic success.”

We are very proud of all our students, but some individuals have really shone this year:

Klaudia Guz achieved A*A A in Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry and will be reading Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Southampton University.

Fahim Ma achieved A A A A in Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics and will be reading Biomedical Engeineeering at University College London.

Naszin Nasiru-Carew B D* D* in A Level Communication and Culture, BTEC Law and BTEC Business and will be reading Law with a year abroad in China at Liverpool University.

Reem Nasir achieved A* D* B in Graphic Design, IT and English Language and Literature and will be reading English Language and Linguistics in Kings College London.
