Advance your childcare career on CONEL’s new Level 4 Early Years course

Nursery and childcare workers looking to advance their career prospects can now study for a higher qualification.

The demand for childcare is high with the Government recently announcing that 9,000 places for pre-school aged children in England will be created under a £50million scheme.

The College of Haringey, Enfield and North East London (CONEL) is one of only a handful of colleges in London to offer a Level 4 Early Years Advanced Practitioner.

The course provides further professional development for anyone aged 18 or over who is already working in the sector who has attained a Level 3 qualification in early years or childcare.

Assessment will be through the successful completion of a portfolio of work, including five mandatory units, and will challenge you in both daily practice and theory.

Upon achievement of the qualification, you will be qualified as an advanced practitioner with the leadership skills to mentor others across all roles and responsibilities within the sector.

The course covers a range of topics, including enabling children to learn, working with families and other professionals and implementing change, as well as more specialist areas, such as physical activity and nutrition and special educational needs.

You’ll also gain leadership, mentoring, coaching and evaluation skills as they complete their studies through work-based learning opportunities.

The qualification provides progression to Level 5 qualifications and also prepares students for further study of early years in higher education.
