Barton Peveril’s Dance Show Returns

@BartonPeveril Sixth Form College welcomed audiences from across the county for its annual One Night Only Dance Show on 27th May 2021. The show was performed to a socially distanced audience and streamed to over 1,000 people online.

The Dance Show took place in The Rose Theatre, which recently underwent a £1.35 million reconstruction. The performance made use of the newly updated lighting and staging and the 372 seat capacity to host the event safely.

Both First and Second Year students on the A Level Dance course and students on the Dance Company enrichment activity took part in the show. The students performed a mixture of individual pieces, duets, quartets and group work in the Dance Show.

Barton Peveril’s Subject Leader for Dance, Laura Harvey, commemorated her students’ hard work:

“I am so incredibly proud of all the students involved and want to say a huge thank you to everyone that helped me in the organisation of the show. I was overwhelmed with emotion that we were able to put on such a wonderful event despite the challenging circumstances. The dancers were outstanding and put on an amazing show, it was a privilege to enjoy a night of dance.”
