Kirklees College nominated for prestigious Tes FE Award

Congratulations are in order to Kirklees College’s Examinations department who have been shortlisted for the Professional services team of the year award in the 2019 Tes FE Awards 2019.

The awards recognise the most outstanding individuals and institutions that the FE sector has to offer and celebrates those who continue to make a significant contribution to improving the skill levels of young people and adult learners.

Tes FE editor Stephen Exley said: “Excellent practice exists right across the further education sector, and those shortlisted for the Tes FE Awards are the cream of the crop. Our judges were extremely impressed with the calibre of entries.

“We had more entries for this year’s categories than ever before, and the standard was higher than ever. To be shortlisted is an extraordinary achievement.”

Kirklees College had to undergo a rigorous application procedure and submit evidence to enter the awards and it was due to the college’s deliverance of a number of proactive measures to both streamline and make the exam process easier for students that contributed toward the nomination.

“We’re extremely proud and excited to be nominated for a Tes Award. As a team we work really hard to ensure our students are receiving the best exam experience and that their needs are met. We’ve introduced a number of proactive measures to make the exam procedure as efficient as possible and ensure our students get the best experience in what can often be a stressful time. Good luck to all those nominated and we’re excited to see the results in March,” said Janice Cleatheroe, Head of Examinations, Customer Service & Senior Leadership Support.

The winners will be revealed at a gala awards evening at the Grosvenor House Hotel, Park Lane, London on Friday 22 March 2019.
