Learning provider donates high-vis vests for school safety campaign

Midlands-based distance learning provider Oxbridge Home Learning has donated 30 high-visibility vests to The Canons Primary School in Bedworth in a bid to help children stay safe this winter.

The online college, known for cultivating meaningful relationships and managing student expectations, presented the fluorescent vests to the school to promote road safety and good visibility during the darker winter months.

Matt Jones, founder and director of Oxbridge Home Learning, said: “We support a number of community initiatives and projects, but helping schools is a natural fit for us because we are passionate about learning, teaching and education.

“We launched this safety campaign because it’s a simple but effective way to help. The Canons Primary School has a great programme of off-site activities for its pupils which enriches their learning experience, and we want to help them stay safe while they’re off the school premises.

“At this time of the year, the days are becoming darker and it can be harder for motorists to see children. These vests will help ensure children are seen and remain safe.”

Headteacher, Michaela Fallon, said: “We’re very grateful to Oxbridge Home Learning for its kind donation. The safety of our pupils is of paramount important to us and these vests will allow them to be visible to vehicles during outings and school trips.

“We walk the children to church quite regularly and have trips planned in over the coming months to get a behind-the-scenes tour of Tesco and to see a local pantomime. The vests will be a great help.”
