Tresham Football Academy Win at Home of England Team!
On Wednesday 14th June, the Tresham Football Academy 1st Team were exclusively invited by Kitlocker.com and Nike to play at the home of England’s 24 national teams, St Georges Park in Staffordshire.
20 students from the Tresham Football Academy were accompanied by their Coach’s and tutors ready for their match against Sheffield College. The team had the chance to experience the professional atmosphere with access to the exceptional synthetic indoor pitch and official changing rooms.
The opposition for the evening, Sheffield College, compete at the same level as Tresham Football Academy in the Association of Colleges Category 1 Football Premier Leagues.
The game saw Tresham put in their finest performance of the season, storming to a 3-0 lead at half time; they then carried this into 2nd half to come out with an incredible 10-0 victory.
All of the players were delighted to have had the opportunity to play at St Georges Park and were grateful for the praise from representatives of Nike and Kitlocker for their performance and positive attitude.

The whole event and match were streamed live on Facebook, with staff, parents, students and fans tuning in for the game.
Solomon Paul, aged 17 and studying Level 1 in Sport alongside the Football Academy at Tresham, was awarded as ‘Man of the Match’ by Kitlocker.com and Nike and received top of the range Nike Football boots. He commented:
“We put in effort for whole game, we played well and got the result we wanted.”
Dan Burns, Head of Faculty for Service Industries (including Sport) at Tresham said:
“This was a fantastic opportunity for our students to be invited to compete and we thank all involved in the organisation of the event. I’m very proud of the Tresham Football Academy players performance and professionalism and it demonstrates how well they have progressed during their time at Tresham. With a 10-0 victory against the high standard of opposition everyone should be proud of this fantastic result.”

“From the moment they arrived, the attitude of the players was superb. They are a credit to themselves and a credit to the college.
This fixture was the culmination to the most successful season Tresham Football Academy has had. Over the past season they have finished in a good position in the college Premier Leagues, reached the quarter finals of the national Premier Cup and regional tournament runners up.
