From education to employment

Barton Peveril Student to Dive Across the Atlantic

Barton Peveril Sixth Form College student Ollie Cazaly is set to continue his Diving career across the Atlantic, after securing a Diving scholarship with Texas Christian University (TCU) in Fort Worth, Texas.

Ollie Cazaly secured the scholarship by sending videos of him competing to universities across the United States. Cazaly received interest from a number of the universities but accepted the scholarship from TCU because of their prestigious Diving programme.

The Romsey School alumnus will embark on his four year degree this September, where he hopes to major in Kinesiology whilst competing in Diving competitions for the US College.

This is the latest success in Cazaly’s promising Diving career. The Southampton Diving Academy diver recently placed 4th in the one metre springboard at the British Junior National Elite Diving Championships held in Plymouth earlier in the academic year.

Cazaly, who has dual citizenship, hopes to represent Sweden’s national team at international competitions and has aspirations to compete at the Olympics after completing his degree.

Speaking on his success, Ollie Cazaly said:

‘This is a great opportunity for me and I’m really excited to see how far I can take my diving.’

Barton Peveril Director of Sport, Luke Hampton, said:

‘It’s fantastic to see Ollie continue his success with a promising opportunity in the United States. We are always immensely proud of the numerous Barton Peveril students who pursue and secure scholarships at international Universities every year.’
