Graduates receive degrees in person again at University of Birmingham Dubai

Postgraduate students at the University of Birmingham’s campus in Dubai have received their degrees in-person from Vice-Chancellor Professor Sir David Eastwood in a special graduation ceremony.

The ceremony opened with the traditional University of Birmingham graduation procession, before University of Birmingham Dubai Provost Professor David Sadler welcomed the graduates.

University of Birmingham Vice-Chancellor Professor Sir David Eastwood then declared the graduation ceremony open, before calling the graduates to the stage to collect their degree certificates.

The students graduated in Computer Science, International Commercial Law, and International Business – receiving Master of Laws and Master of Science degrees at the event.

Professor Sir David Eastwood commented:

“The world has been shaken by the pandemic, but it is wonderful to be here in person to present this cohort of postgraduate students with their degrees. I wish them every success in their future careers and welcome them to our global family of more than 300,000 alumni.

“Our programmes give students in Dubai the opportunity to achieve University of Birmingham degrees, whilst experiencing the same teaching and study methods enjoyed by the students on our UK campus.

“We are immensely proud of our graduates – just as in Birmingham, we want our Dubai students to graduate as high-achieving and employable problem solvers, so we make sure our academic offer delivers the experience that every student needs to develop and grow.”
