Leicester College focuses on employability with a ‘Get the Job’ fair to help adults get back to work

Leicester College has announced a ‘Get the Job’ fair as part of its Adult Education Open Evening from 4-6.30pm on Tuesday, 22 February at the Abbey Park Campus.

The event is aimed at adults aged 19+ to help them get back into work, start a new career pathway or get back into education to improve work prospects. Experts from Leicester College will provide advice and guidance on job searching, interview skills, recruitment practices, employment advice and details of the programmes available to support people back into work.

Several employers from Leicester and Leicestershire with current vacancies will also be at the fair. Confirmed employers attending so far include Aviation Recruitment Network, British Army, and Leicestershire Police.

The job fair will run alongside the Adult Education Open Evening where staff will showcase the full range of opportunities across part-time hobby courses, entry-level to level 3 courses, access to education courses, professional training, higher education and apprenticeships.

“The pandemic has brought many changes and uncertainty to the job market and we’re keen to provide a focus on employability and how the College can support adult learners.

“Our Get the Job event will provide people with access to experts who can help with any questions about getting back to work through recruitment or further education.”
