Barton Peveril Welcome World Leading Drama Schools

@bartonpeveril have welcomed guest speakers from world leading Drama Schools and Universities, and industry professionals, during a virtual Performing Arts Careers Event held on Tuesday 17th November 2020.

Over 200 students attended 20 virtual lectures from the Drama School and University representatives and the industry professionals who took part in the inaugural event. The guest speakers shared their expertise and insight on making it in the performing arts industry, from earning a place on a highly competitive Higher Education course through to audition skills and landing a first role.

Amongst the guests in attendance were representatives from Italia Conti Performing Arts School, London School of Contemporary Dance, Leeds Conservatoire, The Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, Bath Spa University, and Arts University Bournemouth.

Each year, a large number of Barton Peveril students earn places on the country’s leading performing arts courses in Drama Schools, Conservatoires, and at Universities. Of the students who completed their studies at Barton Peveril in 2020, 39 students received offers on these highly competitive courses.

Alice Kyrkwood, who represented Mountview Drama School on the day, commented on the event and the Barton Peveril students who attended:

“We were particularly impressed by the number of students who turned out to be part of it, and by the passion, maturity and enthusiasm they showed for the subject. We look forward to hopefully seeing many of them at Mountview in the future!”

Alisha Artry, Frantic Assembly Theatre Company’s representative, also commented:

“What an amazing event, which offered an opportunity for young people to learn more about the industry and what it has to offer. The students asked very clear and direct questions which created a safe space for all students to feel comfortable.  I was able to offer insight into producing and project management that are key skills to learn when entering the arts sector.”
