Barking & Dagenham College shortlisted for national Support for Students Beacon Award

Barking & Dagenham College has been announced as a finalist for this year’s Beacon Award for Support for Students from the Association of Colleges.

Now in its 24th year, the AoC Beacon Awards showcase best practice and innovation in colleges.

The shortlist was announced at a gala dinner at the Association of Colleges Annual Conference in Birmingham on Tuesday 20th November. Winners will be announced at a ceremony on the 22 March 2019. This event will recognise the very best exemplars of best practice across FE and our new partnership will enable us to increase the media profile of colleges and their positive impact throughout the year with regular features showcasing college best practice.

“Our innovative ‘Ring of Steel’ of support strategy, has previously been recognised by Ofsted as exemplary practice; we are delighted to be recognised once again by being shortlisted for the Beacon Award for Support for Students.”

Colleges do great work transforming the lives of more than two million people each day and are deeply embedded within their communities. Barking & Dagenham College has done exceptionally well to get this far and we wish them the best of luck.”
