Durham University Business School revamps joint Executive MBA with EBS to focus on international business challenges

Durham University Business School has redesigned its part-time Executive MBA programme, offered in partnership with European Business School (EBS) Germany, to run from September 2018.

The Durham-EBS Executive MBA has been re-designed to ensure senior individuals can build the skills to effectively manage and lead their organisations, and the people within them, through a global landscape which is being impacted by shifting geopolitical and demographical trends, digitalisation and global sustainability efforts.

Hosted by two of the world’s most respected higher education institutions, both located in UNESCO world-heritage sites, the Durham-EBS Executive MBA draws on both UK-specific and European experiences to provide students with a wider business mind-set.

Dr Julie Hodges, Associate Dean of MBA programmes at Durham University Business School says,

“The Durham-EBS Executive MBA has been redesigned to reflect the capabilities required for success in a world of accelerated change. The programme is taught in Germany and the UK which enables students to immerse themselves in the cultures of both countries and transfer their learning to their workplace and future careers.”

On the programme, students will explore the operations of prominent and emerging global markets, learn how to create effective transnational business relationships and build a greater understanding of how to integrate sustainability and ethical practices into their organisations.

In addition to classroom-based learning, students will have the opportunity to participate in overseas study modules to further broaden their knowledge and perspectives.

Students will also enhance their business knowledge including marketing, accounting and finance, and have the option of tailoring their studies further by choosing from a range of elective modules, covering topics such as; technology and innovation, business analytics and change management.

The programme will commence in September 2018 on a part-time basis over eighteen months, so students can continue in their current professions during their studies and apply their new knowledge and expertise immediately into the workplace.
