In rapid response to January’s lockdown, @EdgeHill University’s Faculty of Education is hosting events for teachers to get up to speed on the latest remote learning techniques.
The free CDP sessions will help to tackle the mammoth task currently facing all teachers as they adapt to teaching online. The sessions are aimed at making learning as efficient and productive as possible.
Both sessions are being organised and taught by Senior SOLSTICE Fellowship Lead, Sarah Wright, who has researched the most up to date advice on moving education online.
Sarah explained: “Teachers have undertaken a herculean effort from the onset of this pandemic, often having to juggle having pupils in the classroom as well as managing online learning. Our partnership colleagues in schools and other settings are at the heart of what we do in the Faculty of Education and we wanted them to know that we are all in this together. It’s about doing our part.
“Being able to use the expertise that we have in digital learning to help support teachers to achieve the very best they can for their pupils in a way that recognises the massive workload strain the profession is under was just the right thing to do.”
The next session takes place on Thursday 21st January, between 5-6pm, covering efficient and effective strategies for managing cognitive load during online sessions and using engagement tools to monitor and evaluate learning. Follow this link to book a place: Register for Rapid Response CPD
