Improve your digital and IT skills

Barnsley College (@barnsleycollege) is offering a range of courses for people aged 19 and over to increase their computing, digital and IT skills.

The courses are ideal for those looking to improve their career prospects or become more confident using digital systems in the workplace. These can be studied on a part-time basis to fit around existing commitments and some courses are also free to study.

For those looking to improve their all-round digital skills, the College has Level 2 courses in Digital and Creative Industries, Digital and IT Skills, Digital Employability Skills and Digital Marketing, plus a Level 3 course in IT User Skills (ICDL Advanced) (ITQ).

For people looking to study a specialised IT course, there is a Level 1 programme in Cybersecurity and Level 3 courses in Networking and Cybersecurity, Software Development and Systems Infrastructure.

The Level 3 courses are free for anyone aged 19 and over studying their first full Level 3 qualification. Free study or reduced fees may be available for the other courses and those aged 24 and over can apply for an Advanced Learner Loan.

The College also offers online Microsoft Access, Excel, Excel Expert, Outlook, PowerPoint and Word courses.

Leanne Brunt, Head of Creative and Digital Industries at the College, said:

“Our courses are a great way to boost your chances of progressing in your career, whether you are looking to increase your overall digital abilities or work in a specific area of IT. As courses are studied part-time or online, you can fit them around your existing commitments.

“Our Level 3 courses are free if you’re studying your first qualification at that level and you could also get free study or reduced fees for the other courses, so give us a call and we can discuss this further.

“We look forward to welcoming you to the College to help you develop your knowledge and skills.”

For more information about these courses, come to our Open Day on Tuesday 1 February (4.00pm-7.00pm) or visit www.barnsley.ac.uk/part-time.
