UCU comment on university leaders’ no-deal warning letter

Commenting on the letter issued by university leaders warning of the potential impact of a no-deal Brexit, University and College Union (UCU) head of policy and campaigns, Matt Waddup, said:

‘UK universities are finding themselves hamstrung by the continued uncertainty surrounding Brexit. Staff and students need urgent clarity on all aspects of research funding and access to EU programmes which contribute hugely to our international success.

‘With parliament in deadlock about next steps on Brexit, politicians should listen to university staff who have clearly signalled that they want a referendum on the proposed deal.’
