From education to employment

Barnsley College to host free event for those not in education, employment, or training

Build Your Skills with Barnsley College.

Barnsley College (@BarnsleyCollege) is hosting an event on Thursday 6 January 2022, 11.00am-2.00pm for those aged 16-18 and not currently in education, employment, or training to find out about the range of courses available and to build a personalised study programme.

At this free event, the College’s friendly and helpful team will create attendees a personalised study programme that allows them to gain skills in a range of subject areas.

Whether it’s a mix of art, sport, digital and fashion; or construction, catering, games design and music; or anything in between, attendees can try the courses they want to learn more about and gain the skills that allow them to progress onto higher-level study or an apprenticeship.

For those who prefer a more hands-on approach to learning, then an apprenticeship could be the perfect choice. Apprenticeships allow students to earn a wage whilst gaining industry-specific knowledge and skills by working alongside experienced members of staff within their chosen sector. Barnsley College offers over 75 apprenticeship programmes from Level 2 to 6 in industries such as Beauty Therapy, Leadership and Management, Sport, Childcare and Education Professions and Warehousing and Logistics.

Mel Jenkinson, Director of Recruitment, Marketing and Communications at Barnsley College, said:

“If you’re aged 16-18 and not currently in education or training, we’d love to see you at our event. We can build a personalised timetable for you to study the things you’re most interested in, and the best part is you can start now!

“Students are at the heart of everything that we do here at Barnsley College, and we aim to deliver the highest quality provision and support everyone to reach their full potential.”
