College Wins Award from LSC London Central for Employer Engagement

Westminster Kingsway College has been awarded Centre of Vocational Excellence (CoVE) Status by the Learning and Skills Council (LSC) London Central. The award on 22nd June recognises the College’s contribution in employer engagement and to developing skills amongst public sector workers.

Westminster Kingsway College Principal, Andy Wilson, responded to the award: “I am delighted that the extensive work Westminster Kingsway College undertakes with public sector employers has been recognised with the award of CoVE status. The award will enable WKC to build on the good practice we have already established and to extend it across the Public Services. This is a crucial business sector for WKC as we fulfil our ambition of being recognised as “central London’s College”.

Catering to a Wide Range of Training Requirements

As major employers across London, the Civil and Public Services have a wide range of training requirements in Government and Local Authorities. These include priority areas of Level 2 training, apprenticeships and Foundation Degrees. CoVE status enables the college to take the lead in meeting these needs by developing training for Level 2 through to Foundation Degrees.

The award means that Westminster Kingsway College can further develop its employer engagement initiative, providing employers with bespoke training. Training to be offered will include National Vocational Qualifications (NVQs), Management Development, Business Administration, Finance and IT skills together with flexible, innovative solutions in Apprenticeship qualifications for the 16-24 year old workforce.

Westminster Kingsway College has also been awarded the Customer First award by the LSC, for its employer engagement activities.
